The Mason County Royals were outscored 55-26 in the second half and lost to the Adair County Indians 90-54 on Friday night in the Mason County Invitational Tournament.
Adair County broke a 6-6 tie with 11 straight points to begin an 18-2 run.
After falling behind 33-17, Mason County ended the first half on a 11-2 spurt fueled by four 3-pointers from Braeden Myrick.
The Indians pulled away by outscoring the Royals 27-18 in the third quarter and 28-10 in the fourth quarter.
Connor Loy scored a game-high 42 points for Adair County on 17-of-22 shooting. Isaiah Cochran made four 3-pointers and added 24 points for the defending champions of the 5th Region.
Garryon McClain scored a career-high 21 points for Mason County. Myrick finished with 15 points.
Adair County (7-3) shot 60.7% from the field and 8-of-19 from 3-point range.
Mason County (6-3) shot 36.2% from the field and 6-of-29 from beyond the arc.
The Royals will play W.E.B. Dubois Academy on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
