Jake Feldhaus and his Madison Central teammates are headed back to the finals of the state golf tournament.
Madison Central, the two-time defending state champion, shot an even par 284 and took first place at the 2024 Leachman Buick-Cadillac-GMC KHSAA State Golf First Round on Wednesday at Eagle's Nest Country Club in Somerset.
Feldhaus shot a 1-over par 72 and tied for fifth place.
The top three teams from each of the three first round sites advanced to the final rounds. Frederick Douglass was second (307) and Pulaski County was third (313) at the Somerset site.
The finals of the state golf tournament will be played on October 8 and 9 at Bowling Green Country Club. A practice round is scheduled on October 7.
