The Mason County Royals outscored the Fleming County Panthers 40-6 in the second half and ran their record to 3-0 with a 54-20 victory on Saturday in Flemingsburg.
Hayden Horn ran four yards for a touchdown on the Royals' first drive of the game and were up 14-2 with 4:34 left in the second quarter after Teegin Routt threw a 46-yard touchdown pass to Cole Horch.
Fleming County (0-3) tied the game with back-to-back touchdowns in the final 3:32 of the first half.
Mason County regained control of the game by scoring touchdowns on its first two possessions of the third quarter on a 20-yard pass from Routt to Garryon McClain and a three-yard run by Joey Staggs.
The Royals added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter. K'vaughn Young recovered a fumble in the end zone and Routt threw a 43-yard TD pass to Lennie Avery.
The Panthers stopped Mason County's 26-0 run by scoring a touchdown with 6:09 remaining in the game.
The Royals added to the cushion when Routt hit Horch on a 21-yard touchdown pass and Avery returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown.
Routt completed 15 of 26 passes for 333 yards and four touchdowns. Horch had five receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns.
Mason County will play its third straight road game on Friday at Boyd County.
