Mason County vs. red-hot Harrison County in 10th Region Tournament

The Mason County Royals will face the red-hot Harrison County Thorobreds in the quarterfinals of the 10th Region Tournament on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Bourbon County.

After going 9-7 in the first six weeks of the season, the 'Breds have reeled off 14 consecutive victories.

Harrison County's last loss was on April 6.

The Thorobreds average 7.4 runs a game and have scored in double digits 11 times.

Harrison County (23-7) gives up an average of 3.6 runs a game and has pitched eight shutouts.

The Thorobreds have a team batting average of .353 and a team earned run average of 2.51.

Runs have been hard to come by for the Royals in the past two weeks during which they lost three of four games. They scored a total of seven runs in those games.

Mason County (17-15) averages 6.8 runs a game and allows an average of 5.4 runs a game.

The Royals scored double digit runs in nine games, have been shutout five times and held two opponents scoreless.

Mason County has a team batting average of .289 and team ERA of 4.04.

Harrison County beat Mason County 5-3 on April 23 in Cynthiana. The Royals hit three home runs in that game.
