Mason County opened the outdoor track and field season on Saturday at Bracken County Border Clash

The Mason County Lady Royals finished second and the Royals took third place at the Bracken County Border Clash on Saturday to open the outdoor track and field season. 

Milford, Ohio swept the girls' and boys' meets. The girls finshed with 203.3 points and the boys had 196 points.

The Lady Royals racked up 92 points and Royals finished with 51 points.

First place finishes by Mason County athletes included:

  • Amirah Reed, the girls' 100 meter hurdles 
  • Bryant Curtis, the boys' 3200 meter run 
  • Makaylynn Crabtree, the girls' shot put 
  • Madison Howard, the girls' triple jump 
  • Ava Thompson, the girls' pole vault 
  • The boys' 4x800 meter relay team of Bryant Curtis, Deshawn Overly, Ed Brannon and Nicholas Schiltz 
Mason County will compete in the Farm Fast Meet at Greenup County on Thursday.
