Young scored 21 points in the second half including 16 in the thrid quarter. For the game, she was 12-of-18 from the field and 6-of-8 from the free throw line. She had four steals, one assist and one block.
The Lady Royals trailed 10-2 at the end of the first quarter and 12-2 early in the second quarter.
Mason County (15-9) closed the gap to 19-15 at the end of the first half.
After Nicholas County (16-9) scored the first three points of the third quarter, the Lady Royals went on a 10-0 run to lead 35-25 with 2:50 left in the quarter.
The Lady Bears closed to within 35-33, but the Lady Royals answered with a 12-4 run to lead 47-37 with 1:55 remaining in the game.
Mason County will be back in action on Monday night at Paris.
