Monday news and notes

 Here are a few news and notes for your Monday reading:

  • After not playing for more than a month due to an injury, Centre College freshman Riley Mastin, a 2023 graduate of Mason County High School, scored a career-high 16 points in the Colonels' 79-65 win over Oglethorpe on Sunday. Mastin also had nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks. 

  • The Mason County vs. Augusta girls' basketball game originally scheduled on Wednesday, January 23 has been moved up to Tuesday, January 22. The junior varsity game will tip off at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity game at 7:30. The games will be played at the Lady Royals Gym.

  • The Mason County vs. Augusta boys' basketball game scheduled on January 26 has been cancelled because Augusta will be playing in the All "A" Classic in Corbin next week.

  • The Mason County Royals basketball team has added a home game to its schedule. The Royals will host the South Oldham Dragons on Saturday, February 10. The junior vasity game is set for 3 p.m. followed by the varsity game at 4:30. South Oldham is coached by former Augusta coach Steve Simpson.
