The Mason County Royals' four-game winning streak was snapped by a 50-14 loss to No. 3 Covington Catholic at home Friday night.
The Colonels won the district championship. The Royals are the district runners-up.
Mason County scored first when Keshaun Thomas threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Landon Scilley with 3:58 left in the first quarter. But Covingtion Catholic scored 29 straight points before Thomas ran one yard for a touchdown with 6:18 to play in the third quarter.
The Colonels scored 21 unanswered points to run their record to 9-0.
Mason County (6-3) will close out the regular season next week at Lawrence County.
