Chris Lofton inducted into the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame

Former Mason County High School and University of Tennessee star Chirs Lofton was inducted into the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame Tuesday night in Louisville.

Here is what is inscribed on Lofton's plaque that will be displayed at Freedom Hall: 

Maysville native Chris Lofton forged a stellar basketball career at the prep, college and pro levels. He led Mason County to the state tournament three times, including a state title in 2003 and runner-up spot in 2004, and earned all-tournament three times while scoring 252 points in 10 state tournament games. At the University of Tennessee, he averaged 20.8 points per game as a junior and was named All-American and SEC Player of the Year. Lofton played 10 seasons of professional ball in Europe and played two seasons in Korea.

Lofton was also a standout football player at Mason County.

The Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame is owned and operated by the Louisville Sports Commission.
