Mason County rising senior Landon Scilley, shortstop and right-handed pitcher, has been selected to play in the New Balance Future Stars Series Main Event September 22-24 at Citi Field, the home of the New York Mets.
The New Balance Future Stars Series is a global indentification and development program for baseball and softball players.
Scilley will get the chance to showcase his skills and compete against some of the best baseball players in the country at the Main Event.
Scilley has verbally committed to Yale. He batted .404 with seven home runs and 26 RBI for the Royals last season. On the mound, he had a 7-1 record and posted a 0.99 ERA with 84 strikeouts and 12 walks across 49 and 1/3 innings in 13 games (seven starts).
Scilley also plays football and basketball at Mason County.
