Mason County seventh grader Nicholas Schiltz is the middle school state champion in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:11.
Schiltz won the race at the middle school state championships in Louisville on Sunday.
The middle school championships are not divided by classes, so Schiltz is the champion of the entire state.
