Royals advance to the finals of the Kentucky 2A Championships with a win over McCreary Central

The Mason County Royals will play the Lexington Catholic Knights in the championship game of the Kentucky 2A Championships state tournament after beating the McCreary Central Raiders 72-54 in the semifinals on Saturday night at the Owensboro Sportscenter.

All five Mason County starters scored in double figures. Terrell Henry scored 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Riley Mastin had 18 points and seven rebounds. Braylon Hamilton hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points. Philip Bierley added 10 points and 10 rebounds. KG Walton scored 10 points and dished out seven assists.

The Royals were up 32-18 at halftime and led by 25 points in the third quarter.

Mason County is 16-2 and has won six straight games.

The championship game is scheduled on Sunday at 2 p.m. (CST).
