The Mason County Royals led 39-23 in the second quarter, but lost to the Lyon County Lyons in double overtime in the third place game of the White, Greer & Maggard Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic on Friday night.
Lyon County junior guard Travis Perry scored 31 points and moved into second place on the Kentucky high school basketball all-time career scoring list.
Mason County (10-2) was led in scoring by Riley Mastin with 21 points. Mastin scored all of his points in the first half.
Carter McClanahan scored a career-high 17 points for the Royals. Terrell Henry and Philip Bierley added 15 points each and KG Walton followed with 10 points.
Mason County will host the Rowan County Vikings on Monday night in the Kentucky 2A Championships Section 6 Tournament.
