The Mason County Royals won the Mason County Open today at Laurel Oaks Golf Course and qualified for the Kentucky 2A Championships state golf tournament for the second straight year.
The Royals had a team score of 5-over 293. The event also served as the Kentucky 2A Championships Section 6 tournament. Mason County earned a berth in the Kentucky 2A Championships state golf tournament scheduled September 11-12 at Owensboro County Club.
Jake Feldhaus shot a 3-under 69 to win medalist honors in the 2A sectional.
Today was also Senior Day for Mason County. The two seniors, Grant Owens and Trey Cracraft, shot 72 and 74, respectively.
Noah Gardner shot 78 and Quin Grooms carded an 82.
