The Mason County Royals tied for sixth in the opening round of the Kentucky Cup presented by Geldhof Golf Academy today at the University Club Big Blue Course in Lexington.
The Royals had a team score of 19-over 307. Madison Central topped the leaderboard at 1-over 289. Trinity, Frederick Douglass and St. Xavier tied for second at 7-over 289.
Only the top four teams advanced to match play.
Mason County was led by Trey Cracraft, Jake Feldhaus and Grant Owens who tied for 22nd-place at 3-over 75.
Quin Grooms shot an 82 and Noah Gardner carded an 83.
