Tyler Lippert shot a 10-under 60 today and won the 55th Firecracker tournament at Kenton Station Golf Course by two shots.
Lippert had a two-day total of 17-under 123. Brett Metzger finished second at 15 under and Nate Kerns was third at 14 under.
Lippert began the final round one-shot off the lead and was five shots back at the turn today after Kerns shot a 29 on the front nine. Lippert shot a two-under 33 on the front nine despite double-bogeying the par-3 5th hole. Lippert rallied for the win by firing an eight-under 27 on the back nine with six birdies and an eagle. Kerns shot a 35 on the back nine.
It's the first time that Lippert, who played at Mason County High School and Eastern Kentucky University, has won the Firecracker.
