The Mason County Royals used a 19-6 run in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 69-50 victory over the Bishop Brossart Mustangs tonight in the opening game of the 10th Region Tournament at Holmes High School.
Bishop Brossart (12-19) shot 65% from the field in the first half and was only down three at the half. But the Royals outscored the Mustang 15-9 in the third quarter and 18-8 in the fourth quarter.
Mason County (24-5) hit 9-of 20 three-pointer shot (45%).
Nate Mitchell scored a game-high 21 points for the Royals. Braylon Hamilton followed with 19 points and Terrell Henry had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Mason Sepate and David Govan scored 14 points apiece for Bishop Brossart.
Mason County advances to Monday night's semifinals to play No. 1 George Rogers Clark. The Cardinals routed the Robertson County Black Devils 103-50 in tonight's second game.
