The Mason County Royals scored more points in the fourth quarter (29) than they did in the first three quarters (26), but lost to the Lexington Catholic Knights 57-55 in the semifinals of the Kentucky 2A Championships boys' basketball tournament today at the Owensboro Sportscenter.
The loss snapped Mason County's six-game winning streak.
Terrell Henry scored a game-high 20 points. Nate Mitchell followed with 16 points. Henry and Mitchell were both named to the All-Tournament Team.
Mason County (15-4) is back in action Tuesday night at home vs. the Pendleton County Wildcats.
Lexington Catholic (15-4) will play Knox Central in the championship game Sunday morning. Knox Central beat Lawrence County 89-64 in the other semifinal game.
