The Mason County Royals' fourth quarter came up short in a 60-53 loss to the Collins Titans tonight in the semifinals of the US Bank Mason County Invitational Tournament at The Fieldhouse.
The Royals cut a 10-point deficit to three points in the final minute, but the Titans closed out the game with a six to two run.
There were 47 fouls and the two teams combined to shoot 59 free throws.
Collins out-rebounded Mason County 41-27. The Titans outscored the Royals 26-16 in the paint.
Mason County (9-3) shot 35.6% from the field and was 3-of-16 (18.8%) on three-point shots.
Terrell Henry had a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Nate Mitchell tossed in 16 points.
The Royals will play the Bryan Station Defenders in the third- place game Thursday at 4 p.m.
Warren Central defeated Bryan Station 86-72 in the other semifinal.
Warren Central and Collins will meet in the championship game at 6 p.m.
In the other two games today, Walton-Verona beat Augusta 87-79 and Perry County Central defeated Fleming County 65-56.
Augusta and Fleming County will meet in the seventh-place Thursday at noon followed by Walton-Verona vs. Perry County Central in the fifth-place game at 2 p.m.
