The event included several Class AAA schools including West Jessamine, which won the girls' meet with 88 points. Mason County, a Class AA school, racked up 76 points for the second place finish. Mason County finished in 10th place out of 17 teams in the boys' meet.
Payne won the 300 meter hurdles with a new school record time of 46.82. She also won the 100 meter hurdles (17.07) and the high jump (4' 10") and anchored the 4x400 meter relay team to a third place finish.
Mason County is off this coming weekend for graduation before hosting the Area 7 Championships on May 29 and the KHSAA Region 6 AA meet on June 3.
