Guidance for opening up high school sports released by NFHS

There will be numerous hurdles to clear in order to have high school sports during the upcoming school year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those hurdles were outlined in a document released today by
the National Federation of State High School Associations Sports Medicine Advisory Committee.

The document covers guidelines for pre-workout screenings, limitations on gatherings, facilities cleanings, physical activity and equipment, and hydration for all three phases outlined in the White House document released last month.

The guidance also says social distancing (as required by local and state health departments) will need to be maintained on the sidelines and benches at games and when transporting teams to games this fall.
