Lady Royals second at Bourbon County High School Relays

After opening the season with back-to-back wins, the Mason County Lady Royals track and field team took second place in the Bourbon County High School Relays Saturday.

The Bourbon County Lady Colonels won the meet with 111 points. Mason County had 97 points.

The Mason County Royals finished in ninth place in the boys' standings.

The following Mason County athletes had first place finishes:

• Iyanna Johns, girls 100 meters (14.09)
• Abi Dawson, girls 400 meters (1:03.54)
• Rachel Payne, girls 300 meter hurdles (51.47)
• The girls 4x800 meter relay team (10:35.26)
