Campbell County too strong for Mason County

Mason County stayed with Campbell County for a quarter, but the Royals were outscored 22-4 in the second quarter and 20-6 in the third quarter of a 77-43 loss to the Camels tonight at Campbell County.

The Camels pulled away after leading 20-19 at the end of the first quarter.

The final nine minutes of the game were played with a running clock after Campbell County led 62-27.

The Camels shot 60.7 percent from the field in the first half and 55.2% for the game.

Mason County shot 32.7 percent from the field including 25.9 percent in the second half.

The Camels outrebounded the Royals 38-24.

Mason County had a season-low four turnovers.

Reid Jolly made 9-of-10 shots from the field and scored a game-high 19 points for Campbell County. Drew Wilson tossed in 18 points and Tanner Lawrence added 10 points.

Jeremiah Jones led Mason County in scoring with nine points.

The Royals play the Pendleton County Wildcats Monday night in Falmouth in the opening round of the Kentucky 2A Championships Section 3 bracket.
