A 19-0 loss to the Harrison County Thorobreds last week eliminated Mason County from playoff contention.
Holmes, playing without senior quarterback James Walker, opened the season with four straight losses. Since Walker's return, the Bulldogs have won three straight games including district victories over Harrison County and Bourbon County that have Holmes in first place in the district standings.
Holmes uses a lot run-pass option with Walker. He has rushed for 139 yards and four touchdowns and has passed for 306 yards and four touchdowns.
Sophomore Tayquan Calloway has rushed for 169 yards and three touchdowns and has 18 receptions for 366 yards and four touchdowns.
The Royals have been shutout in two of their last three games, but they scored 43 points against Bourbon County two weeks ago.
Mason County leads the series with Holmes 2-1. The Royals won 35-34 in overtime in 2016 and 20-16 last season.
Th Mason County FCCLA is sponsoring Pink Night to raise money for Cancer Fighters United. You can pay $1 to hit a junk car with a sledge hammer to beat cancer. There will also be hair painting, face painting and t-shirt sales.
The 1968 Maysville Bulldogs football team will be recognized.
