Lady Royals 2nd in Area 7 Championships

The Mason County Lady Royals were the runners-up in the Area 7 Championships Saturday at Russell. Ashland swept the girls' and boys' titles. The Mason County Royals finished in sixth place.

First place finishes by Mason County athletes include:

• Te'a King in the 100 meter dash (13.01)
• Marissa Scilley in the triple jump
• Dalton Kindt in the discus (108-07)
• The girls' 4x400 meter relay team of Abigal Dawson, Olivia O'Hearn, Paige Decker and Hadley Faris (4:22.11)
• The girls' 4x800 meter relay team of Abigail Dawson, Colleen Stewart, Olivia O'Hearn and Paige Decker (10:38.23)
