Lady Royals lose to Paul Dunbar 46-45 on a buzzer-beater

Paul Dunbar freshman Elise Ellison-Coons hit a shot at the buzzer to give the Lady Bulldogs a 46-45 win over the Mason County Lady Royals tonight in the 11th Annual Gateway Holiday Classic at Montgomery County.

The final score was Paul Dunbar's only lead of the game.

Mason County had a 13-point in the third quarter.

The Lady Royals shot 50 percent from the field in the first half, but were 5 of 16 (31.3 percent) in the second half.

Paul Dunbar senior Mashayla Cecil scored 18 of her game-high 24 points in the second half.

Mason County was led in scoring by Kara Moran with 13 points.

The Lady Royals play Frederick Douglass Friday at 4 p.m.
