Dunaway scores 49 points, Royals beat East Carter 80-72 in OT

Leevi Dunaway scored a career-high 49 points to lead the Mason County Royals to an 80-72 overtime victory over the East Carter Raiders tonight in Grayson.

There were seven ties and 14 lead changes in the game.

After East Carter took a 70-69 lead with 1:28 remaining in overtime, the Royals took control with a 9-0 run.

Dunaway scored 17 points in the first quarter and 11 points in the extra period. He hit 16 of 25 shots from the field (2 of 2 on three-pointers) and 15 of 17 free throws.

Jaylen Lofton was the only other Royal in double figures with 14 points.

Mason County travels to Louisville Saturday to play the Male Bulldogs.
