Mason County is 4-3 after last week's 54-48 double overtime victory over the Harrison County Thorobreds.
Holmes is 2-5 and is coming off a 56-34 loss to the Bourbon County Colonels.
The Bulldogs opened the season with four straight losses before beating Harrison County (14-6) and Holy Cross (49-0) in back-to-back weeks.
The No. 3 seed in District 7 will play at the No. 2 seed from District 8 in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs. The No. 4 seed in District 7 will play at the No. 1 seed from District 8. Defending state champion Johnson Central is favored to win District 8.

Holmes has a renovated football facility which includes an artificial turf for Tom Ellis Field.
The series is tied 1-1. The Bulldogs routed the Royals 41-6 in Covington in 2015. Mason County had a goal line stand on Holmes' two-point conversion attempt in overtime for a 35-34 victory at Mason County last season.
Mason County tailback Malkolm Devine rushed for 184 yards and three touchdowns in last year's win over Holmes.
