A three-peat in the Firecracker for Deron Feldhaus

The 50th Firecracker tournament at Kenton Station Golf Course ended with a three-peat and a sixth win overall for Deron Feldhaus.

Feldhaus began the day with a three-shot lead and fired a 7-under 63 for a 2-day total of 17-under 123 to beat Matthew Grayson by two shots.

Feldhaus and Grayson were tied for the lead at the turn after Grayson fired a 29 on the front side.

On the back nine, Feldhaus shot a 31 with four birdies, while Grayson had a 33.

Feldhaus said it was "pretty exciting" to win the tournament for the third straight time, but added "it was a struggle; Matthew put the heat on me."

Feldhaus said when he missed a two-foot putt on No. 8 for only his second bogey of the tournament it got his mind set "where I really needed to focus and get things done."

Brett Metzger finished third at 128.

Tyler Lippert and Bobby Kearney tied for fourth place at 129.
