Lexington Catholic defeats Mason County 91-64

Peter Whitman and Blake Scott combined for 55 points to lead the Lexington Catholic Knights to a 91-64 victory over the Mason County Royals tonight at the Fieldhouse.

Mason County led 20-14 at the end of the first quarter, but Lexington Catholic took control of the game by outscoring the Royals 34-15 in the second quarter.

Whitman, a 6-foot-7, 235 pound senior center, scored 31 points on 13 of 15 from the field and 5 of 6 from the free throw line. He had 13 rebounds and five blocks.

Scott, a 6-foot-3 guard, scored 24 points by making 6 of 9 three-point shots. He hit six three-pointers in the second quarter.

Leevi Dunaway had a double-double for Mason County with 17 points and 10 rebounds. He also had six assists.

Braden Jackson added 10 points.

Jaylen Lofton grabbed 10 rebounds to go along with his six points.

Mason County hosts Greenup County Tuesday at 6:30 pm, in the first game of a boys and girls doubleheader. The Mason County Lady Royals play Russell in the second.
