Free Throw Shooting the Difference in Royals' 78-74 Loss to Lexington Catholic

Lexington Catholic made 29-of-37 free throws while Mason County hit just 12-of-25 foul shots and the Knights beat the Royals 78-74 tonight at Lexington Catholic.

Mason County had an 11-point lead in the closing seconds of the third quarter, but Lexington Catholic went on a 15-3 run to take the lead for good. It was the seventh lead change of the game.

Lexington Catholic junior Luke Johnson made 9-of-10 free throws and scored a game-high 31 points. Zan Payne hit 12-of-15 free throws and added 22 points for the Knights. Payne grabbed 14 rebounds.

Mason County was led in scoring by Antwavon "Pig" Williams and Conner Sweeney with 18 points apiece. Isaiah Garrison added 16 points. Sweeney had 11 rebounds.
