Mason County 8th grader Jaylin Jones is the middle school indoor state champion in the 55 meters. He had a time of 7.43 seconds in the 50th Annual Mason-Dixon Games Saturday in Louisville. Jones finished fourth in the 400 meters (61.74). Two other Mason County middle school athletes had top three finishes- 8th grader Nick Robinson in the 1500 meters (4:43.22) and 7th grader Sam Felice (33-01.75) in the shot put. Robinson took fifth place in the 800 meters (2:21.88). Mason County was the middle school state runner-up to North Oldham despite taking only 10 athletes to the meet. Here is a link to the results.
(Edited to correct Jones' finish in the 400 meters and to clarify it was the middle school meet)
