Chris Morris fired a five-under-par 67 today at the Maysville Country Club and has a two-shot lead over five-time champion Eric Schumacher after the first round of the 15th Mason County Open. Morris birdied the first three holes, then bogeyed two of the next three. He ended up with seven birdies and two bogeys. Shane Lippert, Joe Bigelow and Jason Burns are tied for third at 70. Matthew Grayson and Troy Grooms are next at one-under 71. Josh Weber shot an even par 72. The second round will be played Saturday at Laurel Oaks Golf Club.
