Hinson leaving St. Patrick to become Associate Head Coach at Augusta

After four seasons as the boys' basketball coach at St. Patrick, Jason Hinson is leaving to become the Associate Head Coach at Augusta. Hinson met with the junior and senior players at St. Patrick today. He said it was a tough, emotional day "probably one of the hardest days of my life." Hinson had a record of 57-55-1 at St. Patrick. He is third on the boys' coaches all-time win list at St. Patrick. He had been notified earlier this spring that his teaching position was being eliminated due to budget cuts at St. Patrick. As the Associate Head Coach at Augusta, Hinson will assist Head Coach Robin Kelsch and run a couple of new elementary basketball programs. He is not sure what his teaching job will be.
