Mason County breaks two school records, ties another at meet

Mason County broke two school records and tied another at the KTCCCA indoor track and field meet Saturday at the US Bank-Mason County Schools Indoor Athletic Complex. Jim Meyers broke his own school record in the 1600 meter run (5:07.14 ). The girls' 4 x 800 meter relay team of Valerie Rice, Sara Bellingham, Julia Woods and Raylee Kirkland shattered the previous record by 25 seconds (11:19.10). Sara Bellingham tied the school record in the girls' 1600 meter run (6:10.75 ) originally set by Valerie Rice. Mason County seventh grader Nick Robinson won the middle school boys' 800 meter run (2:40.11) and the middle school boys' 1600 meter run (5:49.02). Mason County sixth grader Drew Spangler won the middle school boys' shot put (29-03.00). In the team standings, Mason County was sixth in high school boys, 10th in high school girls, second in middle school boys and fourth in middle school girls.
