The Mason County Royals play their district opener at home tonight against the Lewis County Lions . Mason County is 1-1 with a 20-6 victory over Paris in the season opener and a 28-18 loss to Boone County last week. Lewis County, under first-year coach Josh Hughes, is 0-2. The Lions lost to Fairview 27-0 and Bath County 46-7. Mason County leads the series with Lewis County 18-5. The Royals have won the last 13 meetings. "Little Italy" is the theme for the tailgate party. The menu includes Chicken Alfredo, spaghetti, lasagna, Italian wraps, pizza, anti-pasta salad, garlic bread and dessert. The first 50 paying Royal fans will receive football beads. The tailgate party is from 5 to 7 p.m. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
