Mason Co. hosts East Carter in district game

The Mason County Royals host the East Carter Raiders tonight in a district football game.
Mason County is 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the district after last week's 69-0 victory over the Lewis County Lions. East Carter is 0-3 and has been outscored 117-30. One of the Raiders' top players, senior running back Kyle Huffine, is out with a knee injury. Mason County leads the series with East Carter 11-8. The Royals have won the last six meetings including 40-0 last season.
East Carter's last win over Mason County was in 1997 (34-28 in overtime). "Royal County Fair" is the theme for the tailgate party with food at county fair prices from 5 to 7 p.m. The menu includes hamburgers and hot dogs, chips, drink, cotton candy and shaved ice. Kickoff is at 7:30.
