The Mason County Royals football team doesn't open the 2008 season until August 29, but there's big news concerning the 2009 and 2010 season openers. Mason County will open the 2009 season at home against the Danville Admirals. It will be the first meeting between the two schools. The Royals will travel to Danville to play the Admirals in the 2010 season opener. Danville has won 10 state championships. Head coach Sam Harp has a record of 215-38 at Danville.
