Royals 5, Camels 4

Richie Cox hit a three-run home run and Keagan Burney threw six strong innings to lead the Mason County Royals to a 5-4 win over the Campbell County Camels Wednesday. Mason County scored all its runs in the second inning. After the first two batters struck out, Burney singled and Keagan McGee reached base on an error. Cory Woods drove in Burney with a single up the middle. After Ryne King walked, Cox hit a 2-2 pitch over the left field fence. Burney, who got the win, allowed just three hits and one earned run. Wylie Brace pitched the seventh inning and picked up the save. The Camels scored two unearned runs in the seventh inning and had the potential tying run at first base when Brace got Ben Franzen to pop out to shallow centerfield to end the game. Mason County (3-9) has now won back-to-back games. The loss snapped Campbell County's seven-game winning streak.
