Remembering Keith Carver
It's a shame we wait until someone dies to say good things about them. But that's what has happened as I write this. A phone call Sunday brought the shocking news that Keith Carver had died. I had spoken to Keith Saturday as I dropped off a prescription at Kroger. Keith had a huge impact on many in the community. From his work at Kroger, to his dedicated service to his church, to his coaching of softball teams. Keith co-founded the Wald Park Summer Softball League. He was the Head Coach of the Mason County Middle School softball team and served as an assistant coach for the Mason County Lady Royals softball team. He put in countless hours with Santa's Special Kids, a project to help the needy at Christmas that he started several years ago. Keith did all this in a humble way, always putting others first. His death leaves a huge void in our community. Our condolences to the Carver family.

When I heard of Keith's passing one of the first things I thought of was Bill Keightley's memorial service. So many of the words spoke about Mr Wildcat were so true of Keith. Keith was loyal, humble and made everyone feel like his best friend.
ReplyDeleteAs John Pelphrey said about Keightley "Humanity as taken a shocking and stunning blow."
That is also very true of Keith.
I will miss my friend more than words can express.
We were shocked and saddened when my parents called to tell us of Keith's passing. He was a loving husband and father and a dear friend to my parents. He was always willing to work hard to help others. While we rejoice for Keith, knowing he is now with Jesus and will suffer no more, our hearts grieve for his family and community. He will be greatly missed. Carver family, you are in our thoughts and prayers.
