Mason County Hosts Fleming County

The Mason County Royals host the Flemimg County Panthers Friday night. It's Senior Night for Mason County. Here are some game notes:

• Mason County is 5-3. The Royals lost to Russell 27-26 in overtime last week;
• Fleming County is 4-4. The Panthers have won two straight games including a 41-34 triple overtime victory over West Carter last week;
• Mason County is the number two seed in Class 3A, District 7 and will host West Carter in the first round of the playoffs;
• Fleming County finished fourth in Class 3A, District 6 and will play Breathitt County in Jackson in the first round;
• Fleming County was in District 7 with Mason County when the first draft of the football relalignment was released. The KHSAA granted Fleming County's request to move to District 6;
• Two of the Panthers' three district losses were by a total of 12 points;
• Fleming County leads the series with Mason County 16-14. Mason County has one the last two meetings and 10 of the last 12.
