The Mason County girls' cross country team, ranked sixth in the state, finished in second place Saturday in the Boyd County Invitational at Addington Field in Ashland. Cabell Midland of West Virginia won the event.
Julia Woods was Mason County's top runner with a seventh place finish in a time of 20:14. Rachel White was ninth (20:50.50).
The Mason County boys were third behind Cabell Midland and Russell. Jim Meyer led the way for the Royals with an 11th place finish in a time of (17:13.30).
In the middle school 2000 meter races, the Mason County boys were second and the Mason County girls were third. Nathaniel Grayson was eighth in a time of 10:05.80. The girls were led by Aby Huff who finished seventh in a time of 10:40.00.
