Mason County had six turnovers in a 27-7 loss to the Campbell County Camels tonight.
Campbell County converted the first three Mason County turnovers into touchdowns on drives of 50, 30 and 20 yards. The Camels scored on their opening drive of the third quarter to lead 27-0. Mason County scored on a 71 yard touchdown pass from Richie Cox to Scott Brooks in the third quarter. Brooks had 112 receiving yards and had an interception on defense. Cory Woods also had a pick for the Royals. Campbell County had 403 yards of total offense (188 rushing and 215 passing) to 189 yards for Mason County (37 rushing and 147 passing). The loss snapped the Royals' three-game winning streak. Mason County (4-2) has an open date next week before playing at Bourbon County Oct. 12. Here is the scoring summary:
