The Mason County Royals scrimmaged the Ashland Tomcats tonight. The Royals won the first quarter 13-0. The Tomcats won the second quarter 14-6. Mason County took the third quarter 7-0. and Ashland won the fourth quarter 7-0. The teams finished up by running 10 plays each.
Ashland scored a touchdown right before I left. Mason County quarterback Richie Cox threw two touchdowns and one interception. He picked off one pass while playing safety. Here is the Mason County scoring summary:

The Royals open the season Aug. 28 against Paris in the St. Joseph's Bluegrass Bowl at Lexington Catholic. Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m.
