Chris Morris shot an eight-under-par 62 today at Kenton Station Golf Course and has a one shot lead over three time champion Eric Schumacher after the first round of the 13th Mason County Open. Morris had a 32 on the front nine and a 30 on the back nine. Defending champion Drew Traxel, two time champion Deron Feldhaus and Troy Grooms are tied for third after shooting 64s. Seventeen golfers broke par. The second round will be played Saturday at the Maysville County Club. The final round is Sunday at Laurel Oaks Golf Club.
