Lady Saints and Panthers Advance in District

The St. Patrick Lady Saints defeated the Augusta Lady Panthers 67-21 and the Augusta Panthers upset the St. Patrick Saints 56-50 in the semi-finals of the 39th District tournaments tonight at The Fieldhouse.
In the girls' game, after an 8-8 tie at the end of the first quarter, St. Patrick outscored
Augusta 40-7 over the next two quarters. Three Lady Saints- Chelsie Weber, Ciera Payne and
Emily Brant- scored 12 points apiece. Lauren Sebastion scored six points and grabbed 21 reboujnds for the Lady Panthers.
In the boys' game, Augusta scored the final six points of the game to avenge three regular season losses to St. Patrick. Josh White led the Panthers with 17 points. Jeremy Hardymon added 10 points. St. Patrick junior Chris Owens scored a game-high 19 points. Nick Anderson scored 13.
The Lady Saints and Panthers advance to the championship game of their respective tournaments and both earned berths in the regional tournaments.
Mason County plays Bracken County in the semi-finals of both the girls' and boys' district tournaments tomorrow night.
