Dustin Grutza suffered an injury in Cincinnati's loss to West Virginia last week and he sat out the Bearcats' 30-11 upset win over Rutgers last night. Back-up quarterback Nick Davila made his first start, snapping Grutza's streak of 21 straight starts. Davila completed 11 of 15 passes for 277 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for a touchdown. UC coach Mark Dantonio said Grutza "could have played but if he had taken a shot on the AC joint, we would have lost him for the next game." Cincinnati, which is now bowl-eligible with six wins, closes out the regular season Saturday at Connecticut.
