I enjoyed interviewing Kentucky basketball coach Tubby Smith during halftime of the Mason County-Johnson Central football game last night. Smith didn't seem to mind the rainy weather. He said he played football his sophomore and junior seasons in high school. He was injured his junior year and decided not to play his senior year.
Smith was an assistant high school football coach for six years. Smith says there's not a lot of pressure on the Wildcats this season. He says he thinks the players feel comfortable with themselves. Smith says he thinks the new players along with the returning players are excited about the upcoming season. Smith says he's looking forward to the season and it's been a lot of fun so far.
