Beginning in the 2025 season high school softball coaches will be able to use electronic devices in the dugout for one-way communication to the catcher while the team is on defense.
The rule change was approved by the National Federation of High Schools Softball Rules Committee.
The NFHS said fast-pitch softball was the fifth-most popular girls sport in the 2022-23 school year.
