One week left in dead period, then football practice starts

There's one more week left in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association dead period, then football practice starts.

The dead period runs through July 9. Football teams can begin practice in helmets only on July 10. The first day allowed for practice in shoulder pads and helmets is July 22. The first day for practice in full gear is August 1. Teams can play their first game on August 25.
